Together we raised £2300 towards replacement IPADS.

Year 2 and 3 Girls' Football Team in Action, by Mrs Walsh

The Year 2 and 3 Girls' Football team were in action at the Wilmslow School's World Cup.
AECPS represented Germany.
The girls won one and lost narrowing against missing out on the finals.
Well done team - what great fun you had!
AECPS Win Schools' Maths Competition, by Mrs Walsh

Our talented Year 5 mathematicians have won the schools maths challenge competition hosted by the Kings' School in Macclesfield.
The team competed against 12 schools from both the state and private sector to secure first place.
Well done - a fabulous achievement.
KS1 Learn to Play Dodgeball with PFC, by Mrs Walsh

Joe from PFC taught children acorss KS1 how to play dodgeball. The children learnt new skills and had fun trying to out dodge their opponents.
KS1 Learn Rugby with Rugby Tots, by Mrs Walsh

The children in reception, year 1, year 2 and year 3 learnt and developed their rugby skills with the help fo Rugby Tots.
The children learnt to through, kick and pass a rugby ball.

Year 4 learnt a new way to play football where you can tackle without getting hurt.

AECPS Orchestra Perform with the Halle, by Mrs Walsh

Our prize winning orchestra joined in a musical extravaganza at the Bridgewater Hall with the Halle Orchestra.
The musicians played 3 pieces and sang accompaniments to various pieces all linked on the theme of 'Out of the World.'
Thank you to Mrs Aiken for leading the orchestra and enabling them to join in.

Learning Lacrosse in Sports Week, by Mrs Walsh

We have learnt a new sport in sports week - Lacrosse
Stockport Lacrosse Club came into school to teach the children all about their sport and how to master the skills.
Hopefully this is something some of our children can play in the future.
Year 3 River Walk, by Mrs Walsh

Year 3 have visited the Carrs Park in Wilmslow to study the river Bollin which they have been learning about in Geography.
The children could see real examples of geographical features and learn about the river as an ecosystem.
They followed the river and walked along its banks.
Finally they tested the flow of the river and enjoyed a game of 'Pooh Sticks'.
Reception Visited the Shark Park, by Mrs Walsh

Thank you to AESG who have let Reception visit their shark park for their strength and balancing work.
Reception used the equipment to climb, balance and link movements to create simple sequences.
Year 2 Perfect Their Golf Skills at DinoGolf, by Mrs Walsh

Year 2 have been learning tri-golf in their PE lessons.
As part of sports week they visited DinoGolf to put their skills into practice and had great fun at the same time!

Children from years 4, 5 and 6 really enjoyed visiting Alderley Edge Hockey Club and perfecting their skills.
They then completed in small-sided games for their school house teams.
Great Start to Sports Week with Cheerleading, by Mrs Walsh

What a super start to sports week with lessons in Cheerleading.
The children had to use their strength, balance and team work to perform creative and collaborative balances to put into their routines.
We all loved learning how to tumble and leap on the inflatable mat.
Reception visit Whitworth Art Gallery, by Mrs Walsh

Children in Reception visited The Whitworth art gallery in Manchester.
The children took a tour around the gallery- looking at and discussing different art work on show.
They then spent some time using the art as a stimulus to explore resources to draw, collage, weave, sculpt and investigate colour and express themselves as freely as they liked!
The children were excellently behaved and we ar every proud of them.
Great Science Share, by Mrs Walsh

Year 3 were following up on the Autumn Term Science work, looking at how plants change over time.
They discussed the change in the apple tree, talking about the change from Autumn but also the change due to the hot weather.
They also studied and sketched how plants are starting to grow.
Year 5 Inspired by Kitty Harvill, by Mrs Walsh

Year 5 have been focusing on conversationist and artist Kitty Harvill. Harvill uses her love of art to raise awareness for animals in need of our help in the world today. Year 5 have expertly built upon their skills of hatching and cross-hatching to take inspiration from Harvill's work.
Year 1 visit Hale Synagogue, by Mrs Walsh

Year 1 had an informative morning at Hale Synagogue.
Two members of the congregation shared some key facts about the Jewish faith and the children had time to explore and look at the key features of the synagogue.
They were very impressed with the children's knowledge and impeccable behaviour.
A lovely experience was had by all!
Year 1 and 2 Inter-School Football Festival, by Mrs Walsh

Year 1 and 2 had a great time at the football festival held at Lacey Green.
AECPS had 2 teams of children attending ranging from experienced footballers to new starters at this!!
The children were a credit to the school and played really well together as a team.
There were some great goals scored and everyone tried their best. Well done to all of the children ( and parents ) for doing so well in the hot weather!!
Celebrating Maypole Dancing, by Mrs Walsh

A team of dancers from year 4 joined in with other Wimslow primary schools in learning how to dance with a Maypole.
This historical tradition is being passed on to the future generations as our team learnt all about the tradition and how to dance around the maypole.
Well done year 4.
Final Day of Activities in Pensarn, by Mrs Walsh

Despite being tired year 6 have really enjoyed their last round of adventuous activities including orienteering, open canoes, rock climbing and back in the gorge.
Our final evening will include games in the woods, packing and showers!
Tired and happy, the children are looking forward to seeing their families tomorrow.
Environmental Club Sow Wild Flowers for the Coronation, by Mrs Walsh

Environmental Club have been busy sowing wild flower seeds in our wild grass area behind the Muga. These seeds were donated for King Charles' coronation. Fingers crossed we will have lovely flowers starting to grow!

Year 6 gave really enjoyed their gorge walking, kayaking and canoeing this week in Pensarn. We have some very talented children who have shown real strength, character and determination.
Year 5 Learn to be Gamers in Computing, by Mrs Walsh

Year 5 have been creating their own games that involve designing the game and characters from scratch, whilst being able to escape the 'baddies'.
The children have worked meticulously making sure their games are not only fun, but carefully consider how they can improve their game at each level.
Year 5 also had the opportunity to experience their peers' games, consequently conducting a game review.
