Cheshire East Young Musician of the Year Competition
The Cheshire East Young Musician of the Year competition will take place on Sunday 9th March at Sandbach School. Cost per entry will be £7.00
The competition is open to all pupils who attend schools in Cheshire East and offers cash bursaries for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed performers in each of the five following age groups;
Key Stage 1 (School year 1 – 2)
Key Stage 2 (School year 3 – 6)
Key Stage 3 (School year 7 - 9)
Key Stage 4 (School year 10 - 11)
Key stage 5 (School year 12 -13)
For each Key Stage group there are separate instrumental and vocal classes with an official accompanist available (at no cost to the performer).
Should participants wish to use the accompanist, this must be selected on the sign up form and piano parts must be scanned and submitted by 9am on Monday 24th February to admin@lovemusictrust.com, with the performer's name clearly labelled. If parts are not received by then unfortunately we will not be able to provide a pianist.
Entries across all Key Stages must only consist of 1 piece and for Key Stages 1-4 the duration must not exceed 5 minutes and entries for Key Stage 5 must not exceed 8 minutes.
It is entirely the choice of the performer as to what piece they perform as long as it is strictly within the allotted time as above.
Deadline to enter this competition is Friday 21st February, each age group will have a maximum 20 entrants, any entrants above this will be added to a waiting list.
