Information regarding potential school closures in the event of severe weather conditions - Information Only
Dear Parents,
During severe weather conditions, such as storms or snow, we will do everything we can to open for as many children possible. However, it might be necessary to close temporarily or delay the start to the school day due to inaccessibility or risk of injury.
Whilst it may seem to parents that they are be able to access school, please remember that most teaching staff do not live locally and need to travel longer distances to work. Insufficient staffing levels are usually main reason for whole school or part school closures in periods of bad weather.
If we are temporarily closed during severe weather for more than one day we will provide remote education for the duration of the closure in line with DfE guidance. Providing remote education does not change our commitment to remain open and we will endeavor to reopen as soon as it is possible to do so.
*** Notification of a school closure will only come directly from the school office via School Spider and will be sent at the earliest opportunity but by 8.15 am at the latest***
Speculation on parent social media groups should not be considered reliable.
Kind regards
AECPS
