Attendance Letter from Mrs Walsh
Dear Parents
Being in school and having the best attendance possible underpins all the many benefits of school for your child, such as their learning, wellbeing and wider development. For some children, attending school every day will be harder than for others. This is why schools, and local councils in some cases, are committed to working together with families to solve problems and support your child’s school attendance.
Please find attached the latest guidance for parents from the Department for Education to support parents to ensure children have at least good school attendance.
This guide covers two areas:
• Parents’ responsibilities for school attendance and what you need to do when your child needs to be absent
• How schools and local authorities will work with you to support your child’s attendance
Children’s attendance is tracked carefully by AECPS school staff and monitored by Cheshire East Attendance and Out of School Team. We will be writing to individual parents to notify you should your child’s attendance be trending below expected levels for this time of year so parents are fully aware and informed. If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance or need support please make an appointment to see your class teacher or Mrs Walsh.
Kind regards
Lindsey Walsh
